single day workshop on saturday june 15th, 2024 exploring the basics of foraging, processing and making with wild clay - no prior clay experience necessary. the workshop will take place outside on the deck of our treehouse, located 7 minutes inland from the village of mendocino, ca. we are located in a very special place amongst coastal redwood forests and set against the pacific ocean.

we will begin at 10 am with a walk through the forest looking for clay. you will learn the ideal characteristics of workable clay and where to find it. next, we will head back to my cabin to learn how to process the clay that we have gathered. we will take a lunch break and then spend the afternoon making objects with our wild clay. when we’re done making, we will take our clay objects back into the forest to make a group installation and offering. finally, we will end the day with a potluck dinner and bonfire.
